Dear Member, At the British Council, the health and safety of all our visitors, staff, partners and the communities in which we operate, is our top priority. Therefore, to aid in minimising the spread of COVID-19, the public access to our library, cultural centre and front of office services in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet will be suspended until further notice.
To support you with your learning opportunities and provide more flexibility during this time, we have taken the following measures:

  • No fines for late returns for the period and up to 7 days after we reopen.
  • Automatic extension of library membership for two weeks, for all our active members.
  • All our memberships will be offered free digital library access until we reopen. Membership to our digital library offers access to thousands of books, magazines, films, music and newspapers. You can login to our digital library here: https://library.britishcouncil.org.bd/cgi-bin/koha/opac-user.pl
  • Our free online resources and study options, (at https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/) remain available We thank you for your continued support and urge all of you to continue to follow the basic health practices such as handwashing, using hand sanitiser, and staying at home if unwell.
